I spent over a decade working inside the machinery of the UK's biggest insurance brokers.
From 2012 to 2023, I was part of the team at Simply Business, watching it grow from a plucky startup into a digital giant. I saw firsthand how powerful technology can be. But I also saw the moment the "algorithm" took over.
Later, as Head of Operations (Midlands) for Brown & Brown—one of the world's largest insurance consolidators—I saw the other side of the coin. I watched as local brokers were acquired and their personal service was replaced by a corporate process.
I learned a hard truth:
